About the Event
This event is geared towards children with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), developmental delays, motor delays, and sensory processing disorders, as well as children who are nonverbal, deaf, or hard of hearing. Visitors will be able to explore the museum, play with many different sensory toys, & enjoy interactive hands-on activities in an accepting environment. We will also have information on hand about many local speech, physical & occupational therapy providers. If your child begins to feel overstimulated don’t hesitate to notify a member on staff of what can be done to help. Our mission is to provide a program that accommodates special needs children in our community with an event that promotes socialization, inclusiveness, awareness & acceptance of individual differences.
This event is appropriate for children ages 0-10.
Due to the amount of interest in our SPECIAL NEEDS SATURDAY, we are splitting the event into 2 one-hour time slots and are asking that families pre-register for this event. Please let us know the number of children and adults in your family group. To make sure as many families can be served as possible, we ask that each family register for no more than 3 tickets. Thank you for helping us to ensure that we maintain a calm and welcoming environment for our Special Needs Saturday by working to keep our crowd size manageable!
*The Imagination Station is wheelchair accessible.
